Television adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel which follows Jean Valjean as he evades capture by the unyielding Inspector Javert. Set against a backdrop of post-Napoleonic France as unrest beings to grip the city of Paris once more.

S01E03

A tormented Jean Valjean is forced by Javert and his own conscience to reveal his true identity, but a promise to Fantine changes everything. Things are looking up for the Thenardiers when a rich stranger arrives at their inn, but their joy is short lived.
